ELECTION PRESIDENT
The Bi-ennial elections of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu for the term 2014-2016 are being held on 21st June 2014. The Executive Committee has unanimously nominated Sh. Prithvi Raj Gupta, B.Sc, L.L.B as the Election President. Sh. Prithvi Raj Gupta is a leading Industrialist and businessman of Jammu province with vast knowledge of problems being faced by Trade and Industry and was the senior most active former Office Bearer of Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He has served CCI twice as Secretary and five times as Secretary General (1976-1977, 1977-1978, 1978-1979, 1982-1983 and 1983-1984) he has been member of Chamber of Commerce & Industry since 1970. He had served in various sub committees and had been Co-Chairman of the Constitution Amendment Committee which had reframed the present constitution. The election President Sh. Prithvi Raj Gupta has nominated the following as members of the election committee.

of M/s Ramesh Chander Vijay Kumar, Warehouse Jammu. He is at present President of Traders Federation Warehouse Jammu.

As per the constitution of Chamber of Commerce & Industry nomination were invited from the members for various posts of Office Bearers vide notification dated 15th May 2014. As 16 members had filed their nominations for various posts of Chamber of Commerce & Industry. After scrutiny of the nomination papers the nomination of the following candidates were found valid to contest the elections.

Sh. Parveen Kumar Gupta, B.Com (1980). Sh. Parveen Kumar Gupta is an alma mater of Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu. He has served the Chamber of Commerce & Industry as Treasurer (1983-1986), Jr. Vice President (1988-1990), Sr. Vice President (1996-2000). His hobby is social service. His priorities if succeed in election are completion of Auditorium Hall, to act as bridge between government and the business community. |

Overall, prior to entering the fray for the post of president of the CCI, I have worked in various capacities for the welfare of the people, I have represented from time to time. The mode of working shall be entirely in tune with modern concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) now widely prevalent in the business and trade. |
